Pronounced “Ji-sto-wri-we,” this is what I’m doing instead of NaNoWriMo, which stands for National Novel Writing Month, in which people all over the world spend the month of November writing a novel.
Mine stands for Jim’s Story Writing Week, which means I’m giving myself a week break from my novel and writing a story instead. This is the week. My story is going to be awesome, unlike my novel, which probably sucks. I think I’ll publish my story here under some creative commons license, and hopefully prove to the world (and myself) that I’m not a terrible writer.
My story is based on a conspiracy and cancer. My brother Rob, an Actual Writer with impressive achievements and proved talent, inspired the story idea and I can’t remember if he came up with the idea or if I did, but since he writes nonfiction mostly these days I think he’ll be okay with me using it (and he probably doesn’t remember it anyway).
